Last weekend the kids and I got away for a bit and visited the Boothe family. They used to live in Fishers but moved to Ohio in January. They have kids almost exactly the same age as mine so it worked out really well. We had such a great time swimming, chatting, and watching the kiddos play.
On May 11th it was the ward's annual Father's and Sons campout so Aly and I were on duty to support Jane at her piano recital. We went to Steak and Shake before the recital and then had a slumber party in the basement after.
Jane's class had "Moments with Mom" on the Friday before Mother's Day. We got to eat donuts and read the class's Young Author Books.
On May 5th I ran the Mini Marathon. It is a half marathon that goes through the city of Indianapolis and over to the Indy 500 speedway. It was humid, crowded, and hard. But I am glad I did it once and most likely will never to it again:)
After the race we went to Shakamak Park (about 2 hours away) to pick up Jane from her Girl Scout Camporee. It went into Sunday so we decided we would let her stay Friday-Saturday night and go pick her up to she could be back for church. It was a good compromise and it allowed the rest of us to explore and hike around a bit in the park (too bad I had just ran 13.1 miles:)

Earlier in May Brett had to travel to Chicago for work. This time we worked it out so that I could go with. It was so fun!! I got to relax, run, swim, and attend the temple while Brett was working and then he took me out to dinner at night. It was a quick trip but I enjoyed every minute.
And lastly, here is our latest cake tutorial that we tackled. It takes every ounce of patience and self control to allow the girls to experiment in the kitchen but I'm getting better--and thankfully so are they:)
Next up--UTAH!! We are headed out in 2 weeks for Utah for the entire month of June. So we will have lots to blog about when we get back....

You are brave to let them mess up your kitchen especially with SPRINKLES!!! Ick!!! But they sure do a great job with their cakes. I'm glad you got away for a few days. It looks heavenly in Ohio with the beautiful Sunshine!!
I still crack up every time I see pictures with Aly and Jane. Tobe poses with Aly but it looks like Jane just "puts up" with the posing...(Reminds me of Ash and you) ... Such different personalities.
Tell your kiddos that Utah plans are in the works and to be ready to P-A-R-T-Y!!! We can't wait for you to arrive.

Congrats on your "mini-marathon" - in my mind, nothing with marathon in the name is considered mini. :)
