I Miss My Mom When......

For the most part I am doing okay. My mom taught me to be strong. She taught me to have unwavering faith (which I rely on everyday). She taught me that life isn't always fair. So 90% of the time I carry on with my head held high. But there are those times.

I Miss My Mom When.....

-I put my kids to bed
-my brother finds out he's having twins:)
-it's Sunday
-I see or talk to her friends
-I hear "Awake" by Josh Groban
-I hear any Josh Groban song
-I'm homesick
-it's my birthday
-it's her birthday
-I have a funny story to tell
-my kids succeed
-my kids don't succeed
-I need someone other than myself to love my kids
-my brother calls and needs motherly advice and I fall short
-I need motherly advice
-When I Am Alone

...which isn't very often but Brett is gone, my kids are asleep, and I am alone tonight and these are the times I miss her the most.

What a sweet post! You do seem like you are so strong! I am so grateful for the knowledge we have of the afterlife. I know death is still so hard to cope with and know that it will all be worth it sooner than we are probably aware of.

I am so sad for you. I just got back from seeing my "old" mom and I know you were cheated. I don't know why she had to go, but I also want to talk to her almost daily. Some day.

I feel sad for you tonight... and a lot of other times too. You have done so well with all the change that you have had so fast. I think it's good to get it out there and feel it all.

I am sorry. I wish I could make it all better. Where is Brett?

When we are feeling lonely, I believe our Father in Heaven reaches out to us in personal ways that are meaningful. He reaches out to you by helping you remember your mother and her faithful example. You might have felt like you were all by yourself last night, but you weren't. Your mom (and your Father in Heaven) are always finding ways to be close to you. Thanks for the post. I like your posts about your mom. She was amazing.

Alone time stinks!! Yet, it is nice once in a while to have a good cry. The hurt we feel reminds us just how much we loved her and she loved us.
I miss her everyday! I hate that she isn't here. But you are right - we are strong and we can handle this... right??? :(

I'm so sorry, Amanda. Those Josh Groban songs are tear jerkers. I usually have to turn the station.

We need to meet up. We really, really do!

All I can say is DITTO!!!

It has been a week for me too. There are so many things I want to tell her everyday. Last night, I just couldn't get her out of my mind. I wanted to remember everything about her. I miss her so much. Like you, I am okay 90% of the time, but it is the 10% that hurt sooo bad. Miss you :(

Missing my mom right now.... know how you feel. Thanks for the sweet post that is comforting and sad all at the same time. :) The list goes on and on but someday it will all be made up for.

I know I've told you, but I find myself praying to your Mom often. My Mom thinks I shouldn't but I know she loves me and has more answers than I do right now.

I LOVE the "my kids succeed and don't succeed part" So true. you know I love you and your WHOLE family like my family!
