It Wasn't So Bad Because I Am So Lucky

I had a great Mother's Day because I am lucky enough...

-to have friends and acquaintance who care about me and who thought of me

-to have wonderful family who did the same

-to have great "Indiana" family who kept me busy and gave me a break from cooking:)

-to go to church and be sung to (I made it through all the songs except "Grandmother")

-to have beautiful sunny weather allowing a quick nap out on a blanket with Brett

-to have Brett.  He always makes Mother's Day so special.

-to have 3 beautiful, busy, loving children who make me a mother from the early AM wake up call at 6:30 (that darn Tobe needs to learn to sleep in), to the fits and tantrums as we left the Smith's house--I Am A Mother!!

-to have been raised by the BEST

and last of all...

-BECAUSE I GET TO GO TO UTAH IN 3 DAYS!!!!!!!!

As Adam or Josh would say - Booyah!!

We survived Mother's Day! It was weird. Not as teary as I expected. Somber and Quiet! But it gave us time to reflect of how blessed we were to have a wonderful mother that loved us as much as we loved her.

Life is good! 3 busy days and then the fun begins!!

It was a great day. Our family laughed and cried about mom all day, and there was a good balance of both. Mother's day means a lot more when your mother is on the other side of the veil. I have really come to truly appreciate everything she did for me and my family and who she really was as a person and as my mom. In my opinion, she deserves her "sainthood". She is now my "angel mother". See you in 3 days and counting.

happy mothers day to you. i can't imagine how hard it would be to celebrate mothers day without your mother here. the way i chose to deal with aaron not being here on mothers day to 'honor' me as his son's mother... i chose to focus more on my mom and his mom instead and just forget about the fact that it was a day for me as well. :)
so i hope it helped you to be able to focus on yourself as a mother and i hope your mother was around you for much of the day.
hope you are well.

That little girl eating cupcakes with Jane in that picture looks so much like you, is she your niece? It was fun to see you, we really should all get together again when you come in town. Sounds like you had a fun and busy time while you were here.
