Happy Birthday To Me!!

I have learned that if you want something done you have to do it yourself.  I could have sat back and hoped that Brett would spoil me on my 30th birthday but that just sets me up for disappointment so I told him exactly what I wanted.  And he did not disappoint at all.  It was so much fun.  After all, it was EXACTLY what I wanted:)
I got up and ran with my friend Misti.  I am still trying to train for that 10k even though with the happenings in  my life right now it has taken a back seat.  Luckily I have great friends who keep me on track, so I was happy to get up and run 4 miles on my 30th.  I am lucky I can.
Then Brett and I were off to Snowbird.  We stayed the night at the Cliff Lodge with the "Stay and Play" package.  It included the Zip Line, Tram Ride, Alpine Slide, and the Bungy Trampoline.  So we basically acted like kids all day with no responsibility and had a blast.  Then we went back to the pool and fell asleep out in the sun.
After a tiny sunburn we got ready and went to dinner at a Mexican restaurant.  Then back to the Eucalyptus Steam Room, the pool again, and asleep by 8:30.

Because my birthday is the only one in June we usually go to lunch with the girls instead of having a family party just for me.  My mom is too sick to go out this year so I put together my own party at her house.  I cooked Sunday dinner, made a cake, and went to my mom's house. On my list of things I wanted for my birthday was a picture of me with my mom.  She doesn't seem to be getting better from the 1st round of chemo.  She is getting so weak.  It's hard to stay positive and have hope when things are so bad but today was good for me.  I don't know if it was good for her but she came downstairs, which was hard for her to do, she played a game of Old Maid with Jane, and posed for a priceless picture that I will always cherish.  Thank you mom.

I had a wonderful 30th birthday:)

I'm so glad you had such a great day! Cute pics, especially the one with you and your mom. I should be able to call you tomorrow. The day got away from me. I should be in bed right now! :)

I am glad your birthday was a good one. The picture of you and Kathy is a good one. I think you both look pretty.
But you left out a key piece of information:

what did you have for dinner???

It's all about the food.

What a fun weekend. I am glad your mom was well enough to give you one of your birthday wishes. It sounds like you had a very happy birthday. FYI...we are now done with the trips so lets get together soon.

That birthday sounds like it was awesome! Acting like a kids all day with no kids...heaven. You are such a great daughter, making dinner and your own cake to make sure your mom is part of it all. What an example you are. Thanks for getting back in touch, you are so amazing, like you always have been.

I'm so glad that you and your husband were able to get out and celebrate your birthday in style! You deserve it! I'm sorry that your mom isn't getting any relief yet. I hope that will come soon. Hopefully the next round of chemo will do the trick. I still think about your family and pray for your family everyday. Give our love to your mom the next time you are over there. You two look so beautiful!

I am so glad that your trip to Colorado did not cause you to put off what you wanted to do on your birthday. It looks like you guys had a lot of fun. And by the way- you look AMAZING! That picture of you and your mom is sure one that you will cherish forever! It looked really good of her too, all things considered.

Sounds like the perfect day. I don't think there is anything wrong with planning your own birthday because you are right, it doesn't leave much room for disappointment. Ditto on the pictures with your mom, so great!
