A Whole Lotta Nothing

It's been so long since I last posted but when you live in the midwest and it snows--there's a whole lotta nothing going on. School gets cancelled a lot (ice, snow, fog, cold--you name it), Stake Conference was cancelled. Relief Society meetings, Primary Activities--all cancelled. So we've been cooped up snuggling in blankets, and watching a whole lotta TV.

Tobe's favorite time of day is when Jane goes to school and he can bring his blanket down and have "quiet time". It gives me at least a couple hours of peace and quiet. My favorite time too:)

In January we potty trained Aly. For the record she was by far my easiest child to train. Night time, day time, number 1, number 2--she's got it all down. She must have learned something from watching her older brother and sister (how NOT to be:)

We had the privilege of watching our friends dog in January. My kids fell in love. Ace on the other hand runs the other way when he sees them coming. It's a love hate relationship because they do give him food from the table and he can't resist that.

Dad helping Tobe with his puzzle.

Snow and more snow--ugh!!

The kids had a Valentine Party the other day. We look forward to any excuse to get together and it's always a treat when the weather cooperates.

Freeze dancing

Girls Night Out--Thai Food yum!!
Sewing Group. We made Felt Mr Potato Heads for a quiet church activity. Mine didn't turn out that great but hey, we had fun and the kids love it. All that matters:)
idea found here

-I am training to run a half marathon in May so that has taken a lot of my time. Brett is training as well. We look forward to the time when we can run together. But for now I am happy to keep my own pace and run with my friends. With the kids in the child care it has become "my time" and I look forward to it everyday.

-I get to go to Utah in 5 days to see my little twin nephews. I am so excited. I get to go all by myself with the help of great friends and a loving husband. I can't wait!!!

-I have been following this blog for the last 13 days and it has renewed my hope and belief that miracles do happen. With all the sadness you hear about, read about and encounter I was starting to wonder. (go back to her Feb 1st post--awful) I always love to hear a good ol' happy ending.

Happy Valentine's Day!!
squeeze your kids a little tighter and kiss your husband a little longer--I plan to:)

adailyscoop.blogspot.com. I've been following her for over a year and through comments on her blog I was reconnected with a friend from Ricks who also went through a similar hardship.

It's terrifying.

I was wondering if you were ever going to blog again. haha :) Cute pics. I am so ready for the spring too. We haven't gotten much snow, but it's just been so blasted COLD!!!! I thought the winters were supposed to be mild down South. It's thrown everyone around here for a loop. We are out of school today for flurries...seriously. But I'll take it. :) Have an awesome trip!!! When you get back we need to nail down a time to get together.

*And thanks for posting that link to that family's story. Another friend of mine was telling me about it the other day. I'm so glad that he is making such a miraculous recovery. So amazing!!!
