Wintery Days, Sick Kids, and New Babies!!!

Last week it snowed--A LOT!! (I know what most of you are thinking, compared to Utah it really isn't that much. But to me, any snow I can see is too much--I hate snow)

So I stayed home--A LOT!!

I had decided to start making baby quilts for my brother's twins that were due in February. But last Friday January 8, Megan went into the hospital with contractions. After a long day monitoring her progress they realized that these babies were coming--ready or not.

Colin Joshua Dorius

and Benjamin Peter Dorius

were born at 1:54 in the morning (3:54 my time and yes I was up:) on Saturday, January 9th. I hate to miss this special time in their lives, but I was there in spirit.
They are both doing very well, still in the hospital, but making improvements by the day.
(for updates on the twins visit Josh's blog at buildthelegend.blogspot.com)

So thanks to the weather and a very sick little girl

I was able to get these finished:

and they have been able to take a lot of these:)

Hope you are enjoying your cold wintery days---brrrrrrr!!!!

How did you get so crafty, creative, and talented. I got none of that. I wish I had the time to stay home and even try. Even on the day I was so sick and had a sick kid too, I still had to go out. No fair. I wish I had your life. Can't wait to see you.

I can tell just by the pictures that the blankets and baby books were made with such love. Sorry about all the snow and cold weather you are having. It is a nice excuse for a warm bath, though. The kids have the right idea about that. Hope your days leading up to the trip home to Utah go quickly!

Wow! Those quilts are awesome and what cute baby books too. What thoughtful gifts. I hope that your little one is feeling better. I'm amazed you were able to get all that done while having a sick kiddo to take care of. Very impressive!

I hate the snow but totally love the blankets. (Actually the snow just looks too cold for me.) Are you and Brett coming for Devan's wedding? Jonathan and I have been talking and we have deided to go up to Salt Lake for the wedding. I hope to see you and Brett there.
