They Come in Three's

Yesterday I was out enjoying the warm weather with my friend Misti.  My 2 were out playing as well.  Aly was asleep.  I kept checking on all 3 of them every so often.  Not often enough.  All of a sudden Jane was missing and Tobe was walking down the sidewalk all alone.  I went to the 2 places Jane could be (Jordyn and Emma's house) and no one was home.  Jane is not a wanderer so I was getting a little nervous.   I knocked on the 2 houses about 2 times each and then came home to call them.  No one answered.  So Misti is driving the basket case mom that I was all over the neighborhood to find Jane while Jason stayed with the other 2.  After failed attempts we called the police.
I have never felt this way before and I hope to NEVER feel this way again.  I was terrified.  I decided to go to Jordyn and Emma's houses one more time (that is really the only 2 places she ever goes).  I was trying to open all the doors just in case she went in with no one home.  All of Emma's doors were locked.  I went to Jordyn's and barged in; there she was playing with Jordyn and no parent was to be found.  I grabbed Jane and hugged her to pieces before I gave her the, "NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!!!" lecture.
Meanwhile, Tobe had taken his "puppy and blankie" outside.  In the mix of everything they got lost.  Now this is a BIG loss to Tobe and as a mom...to me.  He LOVES them and only goes to bed with both of them.  Plus they are the only tie to Tobe remaining little so I kind of encourage them.  Well I have searched high and low and they are still missing.

So after a sleepless night I woke up to the news of our dear friend Eugene Butler was in a coma and on life support.  Brett met Eugene while working at Kinkos and was offered a dinner invitation to his house.  We went and met many college students also befriended by Eugene.  He is an 80 year old man whose wife passed a while ago.  He takes in young college students and gives them a place to stay.  Every Sunday he makes a wonderful dinner for all of his friends and we were invited on many occasions.  He called Brett his "perfect friend".  He adored Brett.  Luckily he came to Brett's birthday party last weekend so we got to see him one last time.  We went to the hospital today to see him but he is already gone.
It is in his will that Brett will speak at his funeral.  What an honor as well as a big responsibility.
We love you Eugene! You will be missed.

We are all glad Jane was found!!! Interesting enough, Jane had no clue why Amanda was crying. They just don't understand yet do they.

When you lose a child even for a little while, you lose some years off your life. It is such a bad experience. I am so glad you found her safe and sound. What a week. Best wishes.

I hate when I loose a child. You get that weak knee, sick to your stomach feeling. It is horrible! Did the police ever come? I'm so glad that you found her. I am also sorry about the death of Eugene. Good luck to Brett on speaking at his funeral. He seemed like a great person!
