Happy St. Patrick's Day

Here are my few attempts to be a fun mom and make it a memorable St. Patty's Day for the kiddos:

We started the day with a "Leprechaun Bath".

We got dressed in our green outfits.

In the afternoon I checked all my friend's blogs and asked Kami for some fun ideas because she always seems to come up with some great holiday fun. She sent me to this website that had all sorts of ideas. I decided to try the food coloring in the toilet... Bad Idea!!
Jane went to use the potty and was a little freaked out that it was green. I told her that Leprechaun's sneak into people's houses to make sure they are wearing green and if they are then he leaves. I said he must have had to use the potty while he was here and forgot to flush. She laughed, got brave, and flushed the toilet.
So I did it again. When she went to use the potty again she ran out of the bathroom screaming and crying in sheer terror. It took me about 15 minutes to calm her down. That's really gotta help the potty training issue:)

After FHE we had Leprechaun floats (lime sherbet w/ Sprite)

And green sugar cookies.

All in all it was a pretty memorable and fun St. Patrick's Day.

What a creative mom! Good job! As for the running...I actually liked it a little about half way through when I wasn't running into the wind. Not quite love, but it is a start! Thanks for the motivation!

That is funny! You freaked her out, I guess I would be freaked out too to know a little green man was running around my house.

I'm glad I could help you out. Some of those ideas were funny!

You are so fun. We just wore green, and ate corn beef and cabage. Good ideas, although so funny about the toilet. I could see why she would fear that, I don't want some leprechaun peeing in my toilet!! :0)

Looks like fun...I didn't dare bring out the green food coloring after the "pink" milk at Valentines, my kids didn't dig and weren't amused.

Too funny....but poor Jane! :) I was actually proud of myself that I even remembered it was St. Patrick's Day and made sure we all wore green. We did have a festive breakfast though...you'll have to look at my blog later when I get the picture up. :)

The bath water color is so pretty, I think I am going to start adding green food coloring to my baths from now on. You are a great mom. I didn't do one thing!

Some friends of mine colored their milk green and when I told Spencer he said- 'I don't want leprechauns to color my milk zero days.' So I don't know if leprechauns are going to come here next year.

Poor Jane! That is so funny. I would not even be able to try that at my house, the girls freak out when I put toilet bowl cleaner in.

You are so creative. We wore green but other than that, nothing. I need to be more creative on holidays. Great job.
